Designer Participation Terms

These terms describe designer applications, assessment participation, profiles, and private-beta project opportunities.

Founder-managed private beta

Last updated July 17, 2026

Participation and verification

Submitting an interest form or application does not guarantee assessment, verification, profile publication, matching, or paid work. DesignBench may review identity, experience, credentials, work samples, assessment submissions, communication, and production reliability before making a decision.

Assessment materials, invitations, and reviewer feedback are confidential and version-controlled. Candidates must submit their own work and may not distribute private candidate assets or attempt to access reviewer-only materials.

Professional conduct

Designers must follow project instructions, customer standards, decision boundaries, escalation requirements, confidentiality restrictions, file-organization rules, and review workflows. Questions that affect safety, requirements, loads, tolerances, materials, compliance, or design intent must be escalated when outside the accepted authority boundary.

Independent relationship and project terms

Private-beta participation does not create employment, partnership, agency, or a guarantee of work. Rates, payment, taxes, software access, equipment, insurance, ownership, confidentiality, and deliverables must be set in the applicable written project agreement before paid work begins.

Designers may not present a DesignBench badge as a professional engineering licence, certification of all skills, or authorization to approve regulated work.

Confidentiality and portfolio use

Customer requirements, files, screenshots, communications, and deliverables are confidential unless the client gives written permission for a specific disclosure. Project work may not be added to a public portfolio, training dataset, social post, or case study without written authorization.

These private-beta operating terms do not replace a project-specific NDA, statement of work, services agreement, or other signed contract. DesignBench will require applicable written terms before paid production work begins. Questions can be sent to hello@designbench.ca.
